Brazier 2 and 3 - Found southwest toward the train tracks.Brazier 1 - Found north of the trial starting point toward Leopold Babcocke's vendor stall.
Once you've started the trial, use Revelio to identify the location of three brazier-topped columns that you'll need to ignite quickly so all of them are lit simultaneously. Located just east of Hogsmeade Station, this trial is similar to the first one you completed during the Trials of Merlin main quest. To find the butterflies, stand near the stone and look directly north.
Butterfly Stone 3 - Located near the small camp northwest of the trial starting point and you'll likely spot this stone while collecting the butterflies for Stone 2. 
Butterfly Stone 2 - Found further southwest of Butterfly Stone 1 and the closest kaleidoscope of butterflies can be found flying northwest toward Hogwarts.
Butterfly Stone 1 - After collecting the butterflies near the altar, head southwest of the Merlin Trial starting point to place them in the first stone. Thankfully, you'll always be able to see a kaleidoscope of butterflies from an empty stone, so make sure not to stray too far. While the stone housings can be found using Revelio, the butterflies will not get marked by the spell. Use the spell Lumos to attract the butterflies to your wand, then escort them to one of the stone housings found down the cliffside. After spreading your Mallowsweet Leaves, butterflies will spawn directly in front of the Merlin altar. This Merlin Trial sits east of Merlin Trial 5 and southeast of the Hamlet of Aranshire. Once a brazier has been lit, its column will begin to descend into the ground so make sure to sprint from column to column to avoid having to start over. To complete this Merlin Trial, use Incendio to light the braziers atop the nearby columns with the goal of having all three braziers lit at the same time. Upon completing this quest, Nora will teach you about Merlin Trials and the rest of the trials in The Highlands will become discoverable. Immediately after this quest comes to a close, you'll hear Nora Treadwell in distress, so head over to the nearby marker to begin the Trials of Merlin quest. As you progress through Hogwarts Legacy's Main Story, you'll soon visit Lower Hogsfield to complete the Main Quest, The Girl from Uagadou. Though you may find Merlin Trial altars if you explore during the early game, the first Merlin Trial cannot be solved until you complete the Main Quest, Trials of Merlin, in the South Hogwarts Hamlet of Lower Hogsfield.
